As you may know, J.K. Rowling, is the author of the Harry Potter book series, which has sold more than 400 million copies, making it the best-selling book series of all-time. The story was later turned into a series of films, which quickly became the highest-grossing film series of all-time. According to Forbes, Rowling is the first author in history to earn more than $1 Billion from writing books. What you might not know is that she was on welfare, as a divorced, single, mother, when she wrote her first Harry Potter book — and the first 12 publishers all rejected her work. Successful people don’t wait until they are ready, or until they are chosen, or they catch a break – they start and then persist — recognizing it’s their responsibility to act and create their destiny.
